A friend gave me a 1943 Jefferson nickel no mint mark (at least from what I know) it looks like it's old to me! I'll try to post a picture of it!
please post pics, the mint mark on all 43-45 should be on top of monticello and in 42 they started half way through the year. cody
A '43 could be genuine error with missing mint mark. It's the 1944 nickels, if there is no mint mark, it's deemed as a counterfeit.
Henning is reported to have produced some counterfeit nickels dated 1943. Is your nickel 35% silver or the standard 75/25 copper/nickel composition?
ive found a few 50s in circulation that i thought were silver until i looked at the date. ill have to keep my eyes open for em. i found a 43 3/2 in circ i want to send it in to anacs but it only grades at vf or a low xf at best
I Got the coin checked the guy who looked at the coin said that it was not worth any thing but I still don't know if what he said was right or not
