My grandmother who collected pennies forever, (she would be 101 if she was still alive) gave me a lincoln head set collection starting in 1941. In that set there are 1 of each, 1943, 1943d and s 1943s penny, are they worth anything
First, welcome to the neighborhood, Denise! During WWII, copper was needed for the war effort, so these steel cents replaced them. There were about one billion of them struck between the three mints....Philly, Denver & San Fran. It is not unusual to find them in uncirculated condition because a lot of them were saved, but they would have to be in extremely good condition to be worth much. Be sure to check for doubled dies on LIBERTY, the date and/or the mintmark as this can add to the value. Chris
