1942 WHEAT NEEDS SOME HELP

    geez you scrapped the hell out of this coin. you might as well have used a brillo pad. yikes. scratches everywhere. :jawdrop::hurting::sour::rolleyes::eek::blackeye::nailbiting::nurse::dead:

    Actually a brass brush would not have scratched it like that. I was looking for one of those old ink eraser pencils that had a brush on one end.

    Yeah, I over did it when I got into it. I would probably go lighter on the next trashed one. When I was a lot younger I had an eraser like you described. Maybe that would work.

    Well, I put the coin in a small glass container...Put some Acetone in it...Very little, like a teaspoon full....Then a nice squirt of Brasso and a little bit of
    Penny Brite....Put some warm water in an shook it up...Waited a couple of hours
    and out it came....Rinsed it off, patted dry and Take a look at how it came out!!:vomit::dead::banghead::spitoutdummy::depressed::vomit::vomit:

    I did put a mark on the reverse Tommy, hope you get to see it and keep it if you
    like....I tried cleaning it and it was a no-go.....:depressed:.....What Ya Gonna Do!? Move on
    to the next one...

    Thanks Kentucky , I think I will give that a try......I already screwed it up
    soaking it in chemicals so aint got nothing to lose now....

    Hey Joe, mine looks better than that, lol! Seriously, post a pic after you wire brush it. Maybe there’s hope for it yet!;)

    Good idea Tex, gotta get a wire brush and I will scrub the crap out of it...

    Use a brass brush, not a steel one.

    I got a Brass brush and did both sides...
    What do you guys think? Better or worse? ( Well....At least it's shiny now :( )
