You might be right. But my experience has been that when people ask something like "If i ever were to sell it where would i do it and what's a fair price?", they sometimes (or often) end up selling. Either way, as none of us can possibly know what he will do, it seemed silly that you would say "...he won't sell it".
I'm not going to sell it. I guess i wanted to know where I should sell coins in general and i felt a need to boast about acquiring that particular coin.
i have worked with a lot of young people so i call that insight not sillyness but to each his own a lot of people will be unhappy with this statement and disagree but always remember that the coin and hobby is for you and not the other way round. Above all have a lot of fun thats what its all about
I find that young peeps don't always express themselves as well as us older peeps do, not that we are as proficient as we should be (at least me) and it wasn't hard to see the OP was young, which Spock caught and I thought Spock did a good job helping The Man with his questions, prodding him where he needed prodding. It isn't the same talking on here as it is in person and we sometimes let our imaginations get the better of us, since we don't have a clue who we are talking to here, just like I did with you when I first bumped into you Mark. I messed that one up pretty good and I'm not a YN. I'm trying to get better with how I present things and to not screw things up but I know I haven't seen the last of my screw-ups. There's a post on here about First Acquisitions and I wish I could remember my first true collectable coin I acquired but I can't. The Man has his first acquisition, actually two, and I hope he keeps them. I didn't and I regret not doing so and I can only hope that he will have less regrets than I, when he's older. Ribbit
umm... I'm not totally sure. My dad used to give me wheats in change and i found a 1963 D quarter when i was 6.
i had a steel cent which i recently discovered was an S/S and he gave that to me when i was really little too
Yeah, i found a 1943 P jefferson on the ground and when I put it in my small collection, I realized how cool coins are.
One of the things I do is put history to the coin. Like with your 1943-P, World War II was ongoing and that nickel was "special" because it was the first time silver was used in 5 cent pieces since the half-dimes were phased out by the Shield Nickel. So, what occurred in 1943 that you would like to "tag" onto your nickel? Ribbit
OK. He totally made up that whole thing about it being unc. and it was still really really nice of him, but I didn't know at the time what details were supposed to be there so I couldn't detect wear. Either he was lying or he just didn't look close enough or you guys aren't seeing the same thing he did.
