Melt is the silver value. It is currently worth about $5.63.

    Melt value. Grade doesn't matter.

So, let's say I have a silver dollar. I weigh it, and then I find the spot price of silver. I then divide the spot price by how much the silver dollar weighs. Then I have the silver price.

Use the Red Book and a calculator. Silver content of the coin times the current spot price.

Keep in mind, that silver dollar is only 90% silver unless it's a modern ASE.

The Red Book lists the silver content for all denominations of silver coins. In the case of the Walkers, it is .36169 oz. ~ Chris

There are several sites that give you up to date melt values on specific coins. Look them up.
