    Stop it.
You need to go to the non-discussion, discussion forum to not discuss that.

Yeah, if you go to the non-discussion, discussion forum to discuss something, the moderators will get ticked off.

The moderators will only get ticked off if the discussion in the non-discussion, discussion forum discusses the previous discussions regarding the level of moderation in the regular discussion forums.:wacky:

I'm seriously biting back trigonometry puns here, but only because none of them are very good.

True but after multiple threads and multiple pages in this one pretty much everything had been said and there was going to be no significant developments until the coin came back one way or the other. Nothing left but to keep beating the same dead horse til then. Can't even get a new dead horse.

actually my assessment was that it "appears" to be struck on a nickel planchet. he said...ring and appearance match that of cu-ni alloy" so yeah...he did agree with my assessment that it "LOOKS" like it is. as far as any direct or indirect comments that I may be "lying" is not cool. I do not lie about anything. being I am low income and do not have the money hanging out my backside like everyone else here apparently does to roll the dice and take a chance so yeah... I was reluctant. that does not mean that I don't have what I hope to have, or that I should have to deal with being called names or made fun of or anything else. its retards like that is what make people reluctant to post in the first place. anyone done with this thread can unwatch… beat feet... and move along. if I am wrong...so be it. I am man enough to admit when I am. however, if it comes back legit, we will see how many others are man enough to do the same... after choking on their words. even if the coin comes back as counterfeit... it would still make me right in the end.

You need to keep your stories straight. In post #29 of this thread (attached below) you used the following excuse for not sending it in 9 months ago

if it were a legit error would its value be enough for me to get my cost back with a little profit. if ANYONE would have simply said "yes" it would be on its way there.

There is a listing for the same coin on Heritage's site with the sold price. Took me another 15 seconds to find it.

Let's see, you couldn't send it in for 9 months because you wanted CT members to tell you that you would recoup your TPG costs, yet a simple google search gave the answer In 15 seconds??? Why the heck didn't you do this back in November when you first posted Mike Diamond's comments?

I'm leaning towards the accuracy of @JCro57 coments.

The sad thing is that based on the original pictures, and Mike Diamond's comments (assuming you didn't make them up) you may actually have something. But all of this delaying has killed your credibility. Even Mike Diamond told you to send it in 9 months ago. Why then, are you messing around with some pawn shop who knows nothing about coins.

pretty sure my story is straight. while I was able to find an example at mike byers site I did not see mention of what the coin actually sold for. as far as "making up" mikes comments... would it make any sense at all for me to say he said something that he didn't... when I know he is a member here... just to have him call me out on it and make me a liar??? sorry... I am not THAT stupid. as far as why not already sent in... again...short on money. while I tend to over analyze things I usually try to search every possibility. one possibility is that it is counterfeit. at which point all the money I spend will be lost and I will recoup nothing. although... the henning nickel I found I got almost $50 for so if this too is counterfeit...and it being the only example... maybe to the right buyer that wants it... then maybe. but no BS... I paid for my membership on the 20th. takes 7- 10 business days to get here and it will be on the way. at this point I am in it to win it...or lose it. and to answer your question about the pawn stores... I took mikes advice as this was his comment to me in full...

"1942-S nickel. Appearance and ring indistinguishable from a Cu-Ni alloy. You should follow up with an x-ray flourescence analysis. These days many jewelry stores and pawn shops carry hand-held XRF guns that can provide a first approximation of metal content. Good luck!"

however...every pawn store or jewelery store said they don't carry them because they are too expensive. I tried finding out if local colleges have metal composition testing as suggested by one member with no luck. I tried contacting heritage auctions to see if they could help with no response. I have been actively trying every avenue before investing money. at this point... it's the only avenue I have left. so with that said... I hope it has a happy ending.
