My poor eyes and photography skills paired with my lack of knowledge is not helping me on this one. Looks good when I look at the Cherrypicker's Guide. Top loop looks more oval to me. Orientation favors the guide also. Thanks as always.

Either way, anyone know the rough value of the IMM since the guide does not list one (in any grade)?

Had the VV website with Mercury dime pulled up, but slipped my mind to look under MMS (I know, I'm a goon - was looking at the DDO/DDR sections).

Looks way more like MMS-005 which is under 1943-44, but still not a perfect match, disregarding the orientation. Looks nothing like MMS-004 as it should be on a 1942 exclusively from what I see.

So could this be a new variety possibly or more likely the IMM?

I am open to that. Do you mean via web or actually mail it? Sorry this is not an everyday case for me since I specialize in parking lot cents.

Edit: OK I found his email. Will post once I hear back.

Looks inverted to me. Dunno what reference to look into though. Neat.

Unfortunately, here is the response I received...

"Your coin is a normal MMS-004, which has had a few unfortunate hits from circulation. The MMS-004 has a small notch on the underside of the diagonal."

Well I learned something new at least. Thanks for all the feedback folks.
