1942 proof Jefferson nickels type 1 & type 2 how about a 3rd ?

    I think they are mostly the clad versions, although it's possible I have one or two silver.

    You see the one I have is the obv. Of the wddr 001 , on a type 2 silver nickel. Thus they reused the dies.
    The 42 that Dwhiz posted is a type 2 with an type 1 obv. Look at the 2 base see the recuts?

    Let's see...I have the following graded coins, all Type 1:

    ANACS PF66 (WDDR-003 - attributed)
    ANACS PF66 (WDDR-003 - attributed)
    PCGS PR65 (WDDR-003 - not attributed)
    PCGS PR66 (WDDR-003 - not attributed)
    PCGS PR66 OGH (WDDR-003 - not attributed)

    So, sorry, doesn't look like I'll be of much help haha

    Do any type 2 have the die gouge found on his collar? Either 1 or type 2 ?

    I finally see what you all are looking at. I thought my normal nickel date might have looked a little funny at first glance.
