That is a very nicely preserved ‘42 wheat…Spark BTW, …I had it at AU53…see how close we are?…AND…you can go to PCGS Photograde and use their examples if you get stuck grading a difficult coin. Once again, remember: these are ballpark grades you are assigning to your coins. Everyone has their own opinion on what grading elements have greater weight or importance. Most use luster, eye appeal and strike strength as their top favorites, but toning can be crucial and super old or rare coins will be graded heavily on wear condition or attributes, not just mintage numbers.
