1942 Copper Penny

I have a 1942 penny with a single under it a a small pin hole on the right side of the same and it looks to have been smashed down on the other side like it was make like that can anyone tell me if it was the put there when they made it or how much it could be

1942 pennies are worth only a couple cents. From what you described, the coin you have sounds like it was damaged after leaving the mint. I'd estimate your coin value at 2 cents. The same goes for any other 1942 penny unless it is an error coin (your's does not sound like an error coin), a proof coin, or a coin in very good condition. It would help if you posted pictures.
