    I just bought this coin and am having a hard time determining what province it is from. The only coins I can find with the same symbol on them are from the Suiyuan province, same era. I was told by a Chinese coworker it is a half dollar and they said they thought it was from 1941. thanks in advance-

    Repuplic of China.
    Yeoman # 962 ½ Yaun [50cent] Issued 1942 and 43.
    1942 = 57,000.000 mintage. 1943 = 4,000,000 mintage.
    XF-40 = $7.50 XF-40 = $20.00

    I don't think you would be able to identify a "province" for that issue. It is a standard issue for the Republic as alurid has noted.

    Thank you all, and my mistake, she said it was from 1942, not 1941. I searched the Standard Catalog of World Coins, but had no luck there.

    Try again by going to the end of the "Empire" issues. Republic is usually listed after Empire in the Standard Catalog.
