I also see that someone bought a laughable 1914-D from him and didn't catch on before leaving feedback.

The 1942/1 are Philly and Denver.
I don't think there is an S variety.

If people like this put as much effort into being productive as they do being disingenuous, they might make something of themselves.

Sometimes I'm still so niave that it shocks me to see how many people are running scams out there. Buyers, sellers, phishing scammers, etc.

The most obvious one is that the date was tilted.

Now I'm not sure if we are talking about the same coin. The original link is to a dealer "coins and valuables", but the link Dave posted is to "rarecoinsoptions". So, which is it?

The most obvious is that there is no 1942/1- S!

Ebay started doing something new. When an auction ends or is ended it seems you can no longer go to it directly. Ebay instead redirects you to a different auction of something "similar". It will tell you that the listing you are looking for is no longer available. The word "listing" is a link though that will take you to the original auction. They are making it more difficult to see ended auctions.

This is the image from the original auction

Thank you so much for your answer. I'm new to eBay and have a love/hate relationship with it (and other technology). I used to get notices like "this auction is over, but here's some others" but I guess they've changed that.
Now I can see the slant and differences without a doubt.

Did you see the feedback for the 1914-D Lincoln? The buyer referred to what he received as a "high quality" coin. That was one of the worst looking Lincoln cents I think I've ever seen. In what universe is it a "high quality" coin?

    Could have been shill feedback.
