Saw a friend of mine last night at the store and he told me he purchased 2,700 Mercury Dimes just as silver to stack from a dealer. He said after he paid him he sat down in the shop and was talking to him looking over his purchase and found a 1942/1 in the lot. Said he and the dealer were both shocked. Dealer offered him $350 for it on the spot but he kept it. Said it would grade VG or better. Just thought I'd share someones good fortune. Not bad for $3250.

Not bad at all. My greatest discovery was a 1942/1 from a pawn shop years ago. Similar story, I was buying just junk silver and later found it while going through the lot. It was a nice XF and given the price of silver at the time, I paid less than fifty cents for it.

I was with Frank (@Treashunt) at a coin show a couple of years ago and he picked one out of a dealers junk bin. Pretty cool.......:)
