There are no known Hennings Nickels for 1941. How much does your coin weigh? The reverse of your coin is in to bad of shape to show any of the known markers. But there is still a chance of another date. "While being interviewed after his arrest Henning claimed to have made six nickel reverse dies and six nickel obverse dies giving the impression there is another Henning dated nickel."
So I have a dumb question about Henning Nickels. If the Henning Nickels are counterfeit and the law says it is illegal to posses counterfeit money, how can people legally collect these? Am I misunderstanding the law?
Not a legal expert here, but I think the law only states it's illegal to knowingly produce counterfeit money, and to knowingly give someone counterfeit money with the intent to defraud. Collecting counterfeits for entirely innocent purposes (for its own sake, or for education, or for comparison to determine other counterfeits) I believe is legally OK.
