    Pretty rough, looks like a harsh cleaning to me.

    @Shanequa Young A great way to learn grading is to try it yourself. The following link has pics of each grade. Just dig through until you find buffalo nickels. Then compare your evaluation with the opinions of experienced collectors. If your thoughts don't match up, then go back look at them again. Then come back with any questions

    Been put away for years, came out of my mother in laws trinket box, so must have been cleaned over 30 years ago. I think it has more to do with me using my Android for the photos.

    @Oldhoopster great link because now I understand. I see the difference in how, for instance, my tail has disappeared, and the better grades still have their tails. This forum is great for learning. Thanks again!

    Don't forget that luster radiates, and what we like to say, cartwheel's in mint state.
    A coin that exhibits parallel lines has been cleaned. (improperly)
