My main question is what is going on with the date? Smashed post minting or what?

Sorry about the poorly lit reverse, but I can take better pictures of that later. If a higher res image of just the date would be helpful, I could only upload this at 1/3rd size.

It's in a box with a pcgs hologram on it. I'll take better photos of the back in the near future, but really just want to know what's up with the date.

Can you show the slab and it;s label, and a close up of the date. It looks like a tooled or altered coin

Any key date coin(s) , would recommend sending it off to get graded . In my opinion . . . Its just a self knowing its genuine n not a fake

Would love have have another one ever since my ex left me and took the collection ( and was one of them she took ) . . .

    I agree with PMD.
Poor response to a valid request. Not a good start for you. :(

So I had the wrong grading company... I made it through 1980's chat rooms so I can make it through this... Here are the images requested.

Its just confusing to me what how the circle of the 9 could appear filled or even foiled over in with all the metal in a big ridge like that. If only coins could talk.

    Not saying it isn't fake...

I don't know enough about the "3 Legged Buffalo" but I can be certain to a degree that the Date is PMD or Post Mint Damage . You were lucky to have it grade an Ef45 . Thanks for sharing .

Not really the right spot for this question, but I have noticed some people block out part of the slab label, what is the harm is showing the whole label?

Please take a photo, then crop it so only the coin shows. Post the obverse and reverse and then post only the date area. Make sure your photos are clear and not blurry. It’s too hard to tell but the coin appears to be genuine but the date has been damaged after it left the mint.

Looks like minor circulation damage to the date.

I have posted 5 images on this thread. Click on any of them to see the full size images. I do have a larger macro of just the date, but this is the largest I could make it and still be able to post it here. All 5 pictures are large clear images. Two are square crops of just the coin and one is just the date.

I guess I posted the obverse and reverse as one image. I can repost them separately later tonight...

Just for clarification, what is the max file size. Was it 2.5?

I'm quite certain it is a genuine 3 legged. And the think the anomaly with the date is PMD.

I still don’t get it! Everyone here at CT says that over polished dies and/or grease filled dies are common and not worth any added value. So what is all the fuss bout this 1937D nickel?

Your photos are just fine. It's just that some people are using computer devices that can't provide better close-ups by just clicking on your images.

Some people are just paranoid and think that someone might "borrow" their images for illegal purposes. It does happen, but not as much as they think. For example, I've been posting full-size images of this Kennedy error for more than 15 years, and no one has ever stolen the images.

I only have a cell phone so When I enlarge your photos they are distorted. Again, I think it’s genuine but the date is damaged after it left the mint. I just can’t be sure. Welcome to CT.
