1936 type?

    Not to be smarty, but I think it is a damaged type.

    Type PMD. Looks like someone either popped the leg off that R or it took a lucky hit.

    What do you mean "type" Mrisa? Is there something besides the R that you are asking about or see???

    Well according to what I've read there are three "types" of this DDO coin. John Wexler recorded these
    DDO-002 b1dcf639a93e765affff8060ffffe41e.jpg DDO-003 b1dcf639a93e765affff8066ffffe41e.jpg and DDO-009 42a2f2f0564fc02effff829dffffe417.jpeg so i was wondering if this was by chance one of these above and if so which type (1,2 or 3).

    The "R" on yours looks like it might be the result of a grease-filled die or, possibly, damage as others have suggested.

    In Wexler's image of the 002, you can see that the vertical thickness is greater. The 003 shows a vertical line of separation in each letter.

    The date on yours has seen a lot of circulation wear and looks nothing like Wexler's 009.

    So you think wexler was wrong about his being a ddo too?

    I'm saying yours doesn't look like Wexlers.
