1936 Lincoln wheat cent, zinc/steel planchet?

    What is it that I have here? It does not appear to have been doctored when I looked at it with magnification.

    It is not a zinc or steel planchet.
    It looks to me like it was soldered to a pin for jewelry.

    :happy: Yeah I did not think so. It does not look like soldered material on the back due to reverse details still remaining. Hmm...

    Well, molten solder does not exactly spread thickly. You have to work to get depth to it.

    You can't get all of the solder off when trying to desolder.

    Ive seen magnetic 1936 cents referenced a few times. Its a strange coincidence that they exist in that date? I found one too. The entire cent is magnetic...not just a small spot
