I went and bought me a better camera today to make sure I can that high quality pics and im just now starting to figure out the whole Coin Grading and Minting thing.. I thought if it had the marks it was still good but actually you need a actual Double of something But im still thinking it's a DDO Type 2 but I'll make sure later.. I got left a vase and some hand carved items I believe from the 19th Century... I believe it's Walrus bone brown Sparrow and a 16oz mammoth Bone Asian elephant .. idk yet but the items came from a place called Norleans Japan
#1 and #2 are very similar with the doubling on the date. here is a#1, so the date of a #2 should be about the same. The #3, I use the "G" in God as the pick up , if there is no visible doubling of the lower serif, it isn't a #3. Jim
Coin King, you have to quit looking for the markers first. Find the doubling first, then look for markers. The broken leg of the R is a marker for that particular DDO, however there were many working dies that have the broken R, but are not that particular DDO. If memory serves me correct, one on the big 3 is a full R over broken R. Yes, DDO-001. Read the description here. http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/1936PDDO001.htm It say first hubbing had the broken R. Edit: I just went back and looked at your images. Your coin doesn't even have the broken R.
I know I apologize,i have a way better Camera and I see it was just a ripple.. Sry.. im catching on .. Thanks for everyones Knowledge and patience with me ..
