You must have missed my infamous post about an Ebay rip on a silver center 1795 dollar, complete with auction image!

Not worth reading about. You look long enough and hard enough you will find your own cherry pick.

Is that the same obverse? Because that one looks like a 6. The first picture makes it look so flat on top like a 5.

yes, it is the same obverse...I know..one minute...due to the tape residue and dirt probably it looks like a five and then I looked with my loupe and it is for sure a six..put a certain angle or light can change the way it looks. If you look on the right side of coin near bottom, there is a mark like a backwards c that is raised on both shots. You can tell they are the same nickel.

Gotta admit, I was wondering too because that first pic sure looks like 5.

    But I'm convinced :thumb:

Heck - I would get it graded and attributed. I hope I am wrong, but I really can't tell.

If you look at the 3, it has a line through it. This was post mint damage.

I can see the 6 sometimes and other times it looks like a 5. However I lean towards the 6. Because of the 2 scratches on mine I had it graded by ANACS.I think it cost me like $90 to grade it. I think it was worth it. good luck

As I look at yours again, I am pretty sure Isee that the hoof is attached to lower part of leg and in mine you will see it does not touch.

adding more to ask if indeed this is a 3 1/2 leg....I have looked at it too long. Thanks

I don't know, hope I'm wrong too, but the 1936-D 3 1/2 leggeds I've seen have a much weaker leg than yours. Let us know if you get it graded.

Buffalo Gal...I piggybacked off of statequarterguy ...I hope he doesn't mind:) I thank you for the information. And yes, I think yours is a weaker leg. Good looking coin. Thanks again

I don't know if there was only one die responsible for this error but to me it appears as though the mint mark is in a different position than the one that got certified. Personally, I would do a little more homework on it before spending money on certification.
