    If you zoom in on the pic and look at the 1936 3 1/2 leg buffalo nickel you will see what I see. The spacing in between the legs. The gap at the bottom by the foot

    Looks like there is too much leg there for the variety. I think it is just wear on a normal leg. Larger more detailed photo might show definitively. Jim
