1935 Mercury Dime

    Hi:)

    Imho, it looks like it took a hit some time during its years of service and pushed the soft silver.

    I'm thinking it took a hit as well.

    Yep. Took a hit on the I, which displaced the metal. Hairline scratch across the fasces on the reverse, too, but otherwise it is not a displeasing coin. Common, but decent. I like circ Mercs.

    I guess my love of a good ol' honest-wear circulated Mercury dime comes from my metal detecting experiences. I've dug more than a roll's worth of them over the years, and seeing one pop out of the dirt never fails to put a smile on my face.
