<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Victor, post: 415974, member: 5454&quot;]Actually I have two display cases.&nbsp; One is a rather large [heavy] natural pine case that I got at a flea market for $20.&nbsp; Talked the guy down from $25 and he threw in the contents- old jewelry, nice stapler, several pair sunglasses and sunglasses with a hole drilled in the middle of each lens.&nbsp; I figure they were used on Halloween night so kids could see where they were going.&nbsp; Also in the case were </p><p>other flea market odds and ends.&nbsp; That one came with green felt lining the bottom.</p><p>&nbsp; But the one I am working on now is a small modern aluminum case with a handle like you see at coin shows.&nbsp; I almost bought a brand new one for $60 up at Brimfield.</p><p>But I waited and saw this at another flea market marked $35.&nbsp; So it has 2 scratches in the glass top and has no key to lock it.&nbsp; Also one of the closing clasps is missing.&nbsp; Someone probably broke the tab off trying to get into the case without the key.&nbsp; Anyway I offered $25 and the guy said NO.&nbsp; I said it&#039;s no good without a key and started to walk away.&nbsp; He says OK $25 it is.</p><p>I got it home and had trouble trying to open it.&nbsp; My God I bought a locked case with no key is what I thought.&nbsp; But then I figured out how to open it.&nbsp; Inside was a .925 silver earing shaped into a snake with an emerald colored eye.</p><p>&nbsp; My plan was to set up at some coin shows up in Massachusetts.&nbsp; But dammit they want $70 for table rental.&nbsp; Can you imagine how many nice coins I&#039;d have to sell just to clear the seventy bucks?</p><p>I also bought a couple of folding portable tables.</p><p>So here I sit with 2 coin cases.&nbsp; Going to try a yard sale featuring coins, and try to peddle off lots of world coins too.&nbsp; Putting together a few box lots for kids- IHC, Buffalo nickels, and a sprinkling of world coins.</p><p>Have a gazillion starter sets of US stuff in Whitman folders.</p><p>I won&#039;t put out much slabbed stuff cause I figure the clientelle will be mostly cheapskates!</p><p>Spent $12 for an ad in the weekly flyers.&nbsp; Yeah I&#039;ll have to get some photos up soon.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
