So I have had this for sometime now, never realized it was a misaligned die strike till I took it out of my makeshift holder. Anyone know what the value of this could be? It’s a semi key date with 4.4 million made, and I’m not sure but to me it looks like it could also be a woody. Correct me if I am wrong. Looks to me like it’s pretty close to being full stalks too. Not trying to sell it, but I just wondered how much this baby could be worth? Any ideas?
Sorry, but there isn't a premium for this piece - It has to be much more misaligned (on any series or denomination) for it to have any possible premium.
Thank you Would you call this a woody? Or is that just difference in patina? Is this nice enough to fetch 15 bucks?
It's not a improper metal mixture planchet, imo ('woody', for the woodgrain streaks that some earlier copper coins have.)
Hi Tyler, Did you get a copy to this link yet? http://www.coinflation.com/coins/1909-1982-Lincoln-Cent-Penny-Value.html Nice XF 33-D. Its got a litte luster on it, does it not?
I'd say that there is not much luster.. Not much shine, seems too dull to call it myself. Thanks for the link though
Not improper alloy mix but still very nice coin. Yes there is a misaligned die strike but there isnt much of a premium on minor ones like so, generally speaking.
Fred Weinberg doesn't think its a improper alloy mix, its just a difference in patina. Probably got in someones sweaty pocket..
