1928 Peace - (improperly) cleaned, now what?

    First, get it into acetone. I see strong indication of active PVC plasticizer infection; that might have prompted the cleaning by someone who didn't know that wouldn't stop the process. In fact, I think it's bad enough to already have pitted the coin. Once you've cured that, a year or two in your pocket should result in a gradable coin a few points lower than what's seen here.

    +1 to what @Cascade said. Keeping it as a pocket piece means you start with a cleaned coin and end up with an honest coin of a lower grade. The added wear naturally removes the evidence of the cleaning. This can be a good trade off, especially if you hate problem coins.
