Hey all I just wanted to get an opinion about a peace dollar. Every so often I get a break from work and when I do I do some traveling to look for new places to metal detect and I always check classifieds ECT.. for coins in the area. I came across this coin and a few others a young lady is wanting to sell and I wanted your opinions on 2 questions. I know the photo's aren't the best but she says it's the best she can do and she didnt want to take it out of the plastic holder but the first question is does anything look to you opinion wrong? like possible counterfeit? And second she swears its a 1928 but to the untrained eye the 23 can look like a 28 from what you can see does it look like a 28 to you? I dont want too get my hopes up too much thinking I found a key date at a reasonable price so I thought i'd ask opinions. All in all if it isn't a 28 when I get there i'll probably pass on it unless I can talk her down on price and assuming it is real. I am taking my rare earth magnet, my loop, scales and tissue to be on safe side. One more question I know the weight is suppose to be 26.73 grams but what weight tolerance should I be worried about + or -? Thank you for any input......Eric.
