I have this 1926-D wheat cent, after looking at the picture the word "LIBERTY" looks like it has some split serifs going on indication a possible doubled die? I looked at the coin under a loupe and it's not as prevalent as the pictures make it out to be,but you can make it out. Anyway comments, suggestions on this please.
Please understand that I mean this in the most respectful way possible..... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/serif http://newenglandrepro.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/BP-Serif-SansSerif-Graphic1.jpg In the last week alone there have been a few threads in which someone was writing of seeing "split serifs" on a coin with letters/numbers displaying no serifs (sans-serif).
Well, @BooksB4Coins beat me to my comment about these being sans serif letters, but I don't see any doubling, just a slightly blobby B.
I apologize for having made a play of words at your expense and having drawn you in besides. Too easy, but seriously worth
And how many here, particularly the younger crowed, would've caught on there Mr. Witty? Don't fancy yourself too much; you didn't masterfully "draw me in" to anything.
Crowed you say? Always learning from you! Thank you for ensuring the 'young'uns' understand the wordplay. Keep looking back, pretty soon you won't be able to see the entrance any more
