So I have finally found something that I am 100% certain is worth sharing on here with everyone! Yep, you’re seeing it correctly! That is quite clearly the reeded edge of one of the many silver colored coins that have that trait, struck through AND RETAINED onto this 1924 P Lincoln wheat cent that I found!!! HOLY CRAP I am still freaking out about how flippin awesome this coin is! I have NEVER found anything so amazing! What a feeling!

Now, I know I have heard the term “retained strike through” at least a few times in the past, during my research and just the ima dating myself with numismatic information, including books, videos, forums, etc etc. However I can’t seem to find ANY examples of any retained strike through coins when I google it. So strange. Which means I certainly can’t find an example of THIS particular type of error with this particular material being retained in a strike through on ANY coin, let alone a 98 year old Wheatie!

I only wish that the Wheatie itself was in better overall condition/grade. But hey, I’ll take it!

It’s just with incredible that after alll that circulation, that dang thing is STILL attached! It’s def smushed into it pretty dang good. I ran my finger across it a couple times (I had to do it, but I promise I won’t again. Don’t flip on me, my friends! Haha! ) and it is without question basically become one with this penny. Sooo crazy and cool!

I can’t wait to hear what everyone has to say about this special piece!

Ok, lastly, I am REALLY in need of some funds at the moment, more so than I have in a very long time. I don’t know that I’ve ever openly shared anything about my situation on here, but just to make a very long story extremely short, I am now a single father of 2 little ones, ages 6 (daughter) and 9 (son) after losing my wife/ their mother in an auto accident 2 days after Christmas last year. So, things have been rough, to say the least. But it’s proven particularly tough to afford this TWO income dependent household on ONLY my income, alone.

Also, I am a master HVAC and refrigeration technician and have been for over 17 years. Well, in my career trade, winters are ALWAYSSS tough. Doesn’t matter if you are a gigantic company or a small one, everyone that shares this career field struggles in the winters and it is just a known fact that summers are feast and winters are famine. It basically all boils down to the fact that heating system break a small fraction as often as Air conditioning systems. To keep it super simple, this is mainly because AC Systems are very high stress systems that pull a ton of current (amps) and operate in extreme temps, humidity, etc etc. Where as heating systems are for the most part low voltage systems that operate in ideal environmental conditions for such machines.

Anyways, that is why I am really having a rough time financially at the moment and my point in sharing this is that I am 100% planning to sell

This rare find, no matter how much I want to keep it, because of how special it is. Nothing is more special than my angels or more important to me then taking care of them and keeping them warm with comfy clothes, their tummies full and a roof over their heads.

So, is anyone able to tell me what I should list it for sale on eBay for? What’s the best price that you guys think I could possibly obtain for this bad mammajamma? LOL

thanks in advance for checking out my new crazy find and for smh and all assistance you are able to share/provide!

i hope all is well with everyone and their loved ones and that you are all happy, safe and healthy during these crazy times that we are all having to endure!

-Jay aka “Time2shine5299”[/QUOTE]
