There is a good chance that, if posted to sell on eBay, you could get more than what has been posted here. It is understandable that we all have a number in our head and everyone will pay a different price for what they see.

Keep in mind there's two different prices, the price you'd have to pay a dealer, and the price a dealer would offer to get it from you.

@Claude1 You received responses from a number of knowledgeable collectors and all have said that it's worth approx. $17-18. The reality is your coin is a very common date, with unattractive toning, in mediocre condition (as others have pointed out). Coins like this are worth significantly more in silver value than they are for their numismatic/collectable value. They're a commodity.

If you believe it's worth more to you for sentimental or personal reasons, then your post is absolutely accurate and nobody should disagree. However, if you believe that you can go out today and easily find a buyer that will pay significantly more than the values posted here, then you are sorely mistaken. People here are just giving you the cold, hard facts of numismatic reality.

I know and I appreciate everybody's opinion. But if a dealer would pay this much that means he has a bigger number for what he would sale it for. That is the number I'm trying to get.

Feel free to take a look at what they sell for on ebay:

When people say it's worth $16-$18 this is where they are coming from. Dealers may try to sell it for $25, but they would be buying for maybe $10. The thing is, when people talk about the value of a coin, I generally think the value is the price they give +/33%. So if they say it's worth $18, then I would expect a range of maybe $12-$27. Higher prices go to bigger dealers, lower prices to go the general public when they sell.

For coins like this I believe the best way to maximize the amount you get is an ebay auction started at $1. There are tens of thousands, maybe millions, of collectors searching ebay for coins, they will bid it up to it's market value. If you get more than $20 I'd be shocked.

Just to be clear, are you saying "I want to see the price a dealer would put on this if he were selling it", or are you saying "I want to get as much for this as a dealer would"?

I don't need to sale it. All I'm trying to do is to come up with a real value on the collection I got. Like I said I'm new at this so talking with people who knows more is the best way to learn . I have over 100 silver coins and slowly I'm trying to learn they're value . I think what the dealer gets for them is the real value.

The regular coin show I go to has buckets of examples just like yours for $19. That is the retail price. A dealer would more than likely offer you somewhere in the $15 range. If your lucky.
