First coin I bought. PositiveI way overpaid, but I really like it. My SWAG on this is in the mid-AU range. I'd appreciate some more informed guesses.

Also, what is the rule of thumb for when it is worth it is worth getting something graded through NGC, etc? I have an idea based on common sense, but I'm really trying to learn.

    welcome to the forum.
Nice coin, I always liked the Monroe half. The reverse design especially. Personally I would sat Xf45-Au50 on the coin depending on how much luster is in the fields. To have it slabbed would be in the $40 range, with shipping both ways, which is about what the coin is worth.
