I was gonna replace this Peace dollar in the Dansco, IMG_0001_4.JPG IMG_0002_4.JPG With this one.
Both show a lot of the same characteristics. IMG_0001_2.JPG IMG_0002_2.JPG Which would you choose?
One of them is an R-6 VAM.

I honestly don't know. They're each attractive in their own way.

They both look good ..would have to pick the first one for me.
Peace Dollars are tough to grade for me .. I have ask as I'm not able to detect the VAM 6. From what I can see they look the same and do not see the DDR Middle needed for VAM 6. ??

The VAM is on the earlier die state.

Hate to say it @Pickin and Grinin but I think you got something on your glass .. don't see anything like VAM 6 :)

As someone who loves die cracks, I'd go with the second one in a heart beat. :)

I prefer the luster of the second one.

The first one appears more problem-free than the second.
But the second has the die crack which I find appealing.

Same here, the bisecting die crack on the second one, was the reason I bought it. With it's multiple die cracks I am wondering how many more strikes it had before shattering.

Might just have to buy a second Dansco. I like them both, but prefer the toning on the first one.

They both have the same die crack...did you do the vams on them? That crack is a dead give away...I have one like it.

The second has an additional die crack through the tiara, from rim I in liberty to rim through Y. The first one is the only that I have VAM'ed.

    It is a http://www.vamworld.com/1923-P+VAM-1AN2
The second I havnt been able to identify yet, any suggestions?

I see some doubling on the second one that is close to a VAM 6, but don't think it is either.

Just so everyone is clear he said a R6 VAM. Not a VAM 6.
