1923-P Mercury Dime w/ Thick Date

    Is the shape and size of this uncirculated 1923-p Mercury dime normal. Looks different to other I have and compared it too.

    It is well struck and does not appear flattened by contact or pmd

    any comments or suggestions?

    Looks like a doubled die. Probably a class 6.

    thanks jallengomez, that was my opinion as well just was hoping for additional confirmations. As there are no DDO listed for that date so I assumed I was either wrong or its a unique find.

    After seeing your second group of photos of the date I am not sure this is a doubled die.

    I was told on another forum that there was an issue with grease in the die at the time of your strike. the little bit of grease make the device look wider.

    I"m with Larry. I'm doubtful now that I've seen the second group of photos.
