Whats the worse this could possible grade? I'm sure this isn't accurate. Seen this on facebook marketplace in my local area. Only have a Obverse photo. Selling for $45. Is it worth the purchase?
I'm with Ed on this one. Can't tell anything about the coin from that photo, but I have never seen that slab.
I wouldn't touch it. It's not slabbed by a reputable company (although it is meant to look like an NGC slab). With that in mind, it could be anything from MS to harshly cleaned, to fake. A 1922 Peace Dollar is about as common as it gets. You can pick up a nice non-risk example for that same price point.
Fake slab / knock off NGC basement slabber for sure. Cant tell about the coin based on the photos. Possibly real, but low grade.
PASS is all that come to mind when looking at this. It’s a bad photo but still you can see it’s not a MS-68 coin.
Slab is fake,Facebook marketplace is full of this crap. Probably one of the worst of them all for counterfeit goods,especially coins and errors!!don't buy coins on FM unless it's actually from a dealer profile but even then I would be cautious.
LOL.. Not always. I sell a lot of neat stuff on FB Marketplace. I do very well on there. I just sold this item for $60.00
I was specifically referring to coins initially and yes I've seen some pretty nice deals for the right person.
Heck, I've gotten some screaming coin deals on eBay -- but I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a reliable source of good coins at good prices.
Probably the worse would be a Details-Unc Cleaned or damaged. That would lower the value to melt price.
Pretty sure worse would be a silver-plated copper (or even iron) fake, which seems to be what they're selling under these labels.
Here's a piece of advice you can take to the bank. When you see an offering for a coin with bad photograph that does not give you a decent image of the coin, run away. Don't even consider buying it. It is almost certainly a scam.
