Hello All,

I have been trolling around for a few months now with no real reason to post. I recently inherited a coin collection and have found hours of enjoyment trying to figure this hobby out. I was a baseball card collector for many years so, I think I just enjoy the collecting hobby as I can find anything interesting. Here is my current problem, I have a 1922 No D Lincoln cent and I am trying to figure out if it is a weak D or a No D variety. I have looked at the lincoln penny resource site and I still cannot figure out which die this might have been from. Also, the coin itself is very odd, It is very clean and shiny on the lincoln side with two discolerations coming around the rim. On the obverse it has what appears to be brown streaks going acrossed it. I have looked very carefully at the "O" in ONE CENT and there is an obvious "die" crack coming from the L to the "O" that is very prominent, but it seems like the crack through the "O" is less prominent but it seems to stop at the southeast corner of the "O". The wheat ears are very weak and some of the letters in the USofA. In God We Trust seems weak also, especially the "WE". The second 2 in 1922 is very weak too. Even though there is not a raised "D" it still seems that I can make out where a "D" with a magnifying glass. So, I am worried that my wife's great grandfather thought it was a NO D and it might be a fake. Let me know what you think and thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Chris Kampmann
