IMO it's worth keeping as a space filler until you can get an undamaged example. It's a darn shame about the damage.
Well, to me, it looks like you have a 1922D weak reverse, which, even in a G to VG condition, you could probably get $15-20, if it didn't have that damage. In 1922 there were a little over 7.1 million coins produced (D mint, which totaled of 4 basic varieties: weak reverse, weak D, no-D strong rev,. & no-D weak reverse). In 1921, a little over 54.4 million coins were produced (P & S mints). In 1923, a little over 83.4 million coins were produced (P & S mints). So, the relatively miniscule number of 1922 cents adds to their collectability. Yours, because of the severity of the damage, may still be worth a buck or two to someone who didn't want to spend the money on a problem free coin & just wanted to fill a hole. But if it were me, I'd call it a keeper.
I sold one of these in G or maybe VG on eBay for $13 shipped. It is a better date, not a key date, so that condition kills things.
