I recently purchase this dateless Standing Liberty Quarter with some other coins. I didn't think much about it until it arrived and I noticed the last digit is partly present. "Looks like a 1" I thought. I'm not very familiar with Standing Liberty Quarters so I went to the Red Book to see if I could determine if it was a 1921 or 1931. After flipping to the appropriate page I discovered that there aren't any 1931 dated quarters. Then I realized for the first time that 1921 is a key date of this series.

So the question is, is it? I'm glad I came to my conclusion before I knew that 1921 is a key date because otherwise I'd be more likely to "see" things that aren't there. But, I'm still not 100% sure. Like I said I don't know this series very well. What do you think?
