Cascade old buddy. Thanks for your thoughts. No one likes a know- it-all as they can be boring. However, I'll guarantee that you could drop that coin out a five story building on to a sidewalk if it were in a PCGS slab and that lamination would not break off. Since no one is going to do it, under normal care that lamination will NEVER COME OFF the slabbed coin.

Look at it from my point of view. It gets very tiresome for me to read all the insane "qualifiers" in posts. Experience rules! I've been playing with laminated coins for almost fifty years. I'll guarantee there are others here who have also. Forget about the thousands of minor laminations that are common as dirt in some series. Let's talk MAJOR ones such as this. They can be very delicate. Even trying to push it down will cause a crease in its surface if you don't know how to do it. I'll bet some here do.

IMHO, based on what I see in the post, that lamination is not going anywhere unless someone does something stupid. Dropping it raw off a table there is a one in 10,000 chance that a corner of the lamination will catch a bit of rug if it slides against the grain. Heck, I could kick it a foot across a concrete floor WITH THE GRAIN and you would not know it. YET, CATCH THE EDGE at the point of the lamination with the plastic straight edge of a flip and it might pop right off if pushed to hard.

PS coins like this have even been "repaired a little" (to guarantee their future) with super glue AND THEN BEEN SLABBED.
