    I'm looking for tips on how to identify if what I have is the london obverse or the indian obverse. Any input is appreciated. Though I am leaning towards indian obverse, I have hope!! Cheers 20190705_110632.jpg 20190705_110657.jpg 20190705_110632.jpg 20190705_110657.jpg

    Looks like your coin does not have a Mint Mark. So not India.
    Here is some information -

    Mintmarks:
    H = Heaton Mint
    I = Calcutta Mint
    Without mintmark = Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or London Mints

    Mintmark is inside circle above date.

    Edit.. Looks to be India Mint

    Try to get better in focus photos. Yours is either Melbourne or Sydney

    Nice work. I'm not tech savvy. Didn't know how to isolate and post just the photos.

    Is it 100% definitive that it's not the London obverse if the N doesn't line up? I wasnt able find any info on other discerning characteristics. I'm feel like paddyman98 is correct, it's not India. But it's not looking like london considering the N doesnt line up how it should. I'm off to research Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth 1921 pennies!

    The mint mark has nothing to do with it being the Indian or London obverse. You have the Indian obverse. As you can see from this site the 1921 penny had no mint mark on it. It could have been struck at the Sydney or Melbourne Mint, with the majority being struck at Melbourne.

    I hate to ask yet another question...but google isnt helping me with this one. I just took the coins to a local enthusiast and he confirmed its india obverse. He said the lettering looks like it has a double edge tho. Making it an error coin. Penny for your thoughts?

    The point of the N is right on the dentil in the photo and your coin in the Indian.
    So I would say Indian obverse.
    As for the double edge it's probably not severe enough to add anything.

    Thank you. I'm going to try and get more pics. It's all along the letters on the obverse. Hard to tell with the pics I have up currently. The lighting isnt quite right.
