Happy Day!! I have been waiting for this coin forever. Multiple visits to coin shows and endless watching eBay listing are finally over. I finally found the coin I was searching for in the grade I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. This is the sellers pics. I'll post mine when the coin arrives.
The acquisition also has a sad part. This was the last coin in my un-circulated Estados Unidos Mexicanos Bronze 20 Centavos collection. Now I'll have to find another series to work on.
It's bittersweet. If you're like me, you spend all this time building the set and then you complete it and never really look at it any more. It's more fun to build it than to possess it in a way. I have two more 50 centavos and 1 more peso to get and then I'm done with two more groups of the Mexican collection.
Great coin!! I bid on that coin and would have gone higher but was a little tight on cash this weekend. I'm glad it went to a cointalker. Enjoy it
I have had this one since the 1960's when I rescued it from a coin dealer's junk box. Mexico Bronze 20 Centavos 1920 It is not in as nice shape as the one above, but it's mine!
Arrived tonight. These are my pics. I am happy to see it is free from the bag marks and dings normally found on this coin. This one will be with me for a long time.
Another good reason to search those "junk" boxes. At the Portland 2015 ANA show last March, I spent 99% percent of my time in 2 junk boxes. The show in some regards was a disappointment for world coins. Most world coin sellers were hawking old and rare gold and silver offerings. Very few (in fact only about 3 dealers) had any modern world coins. Consequently, I shop mostly on-line, and at any pawn shop or local who may have a hoard of world coins. Again NICE find!!
