1919 gold half sovereign

    Hi I got my dads coin collection when he died I found a 1919 gold half sovereign in a bag of old coins Its weight is 3.99g but cant seem to find anything like it online can anyone help me please

    No Half Sovereigns were struck in 1919.

    Who made a half sovereign in 1919?

    It may be Lebanese. In the 1960s British coins, in the correct gold purity were allegedly struck in the middle east because British gold coins had a good reputation in the region, used for 'cash' trading. In other words, a fake, but with genuine gold value.

  14. Looks like 1918 to me..is that's mint mark to the right of the date? Do they have mint marks? Not real familiar with them.

    I'm guessing 1913, from a fuzzy picture, not wearing my glasses, and on my second glass of wine.

    Does look like a 3 not a 9 but it is really blurry
