Here's another weird coin, 2009 ''the duke'' Quarter, doubling in the LL 's but not on the " E " like its a new ddr discovery, what do u guys think now and see the doubling on the left side of his cheek, crazy hehm, just noticed 2 cuds inbetween the G & T of ellington,i made these errors myself, lollllllllllll kidding around
There is no doubling on the LL. And cuds involve the rim and spread inwards as the die continues to deteriorate. I really suggest doing some reading on the minting process and how dies are made. The normal way to go about things is to first verify what you have before worrying about how much (or little ) it is worth.
I don't want to give you a price because I can't tell what you may have. The condition of your Nickel looks bad anyways. Collectors want decent coins with errors that are distinguishable.
This is from Numismatic News , I can not see the 4th arm ( bottom)that is the doubled die , that I do not see on any of your photographs. If I missed it , tell me which photo from the top.Otherwise it has no increased value, IMO. Jim
No, there are 3 Ellington DDR's. 2 of them involving the black key on the piano and a doubled ELL. Partials or almost's don't cut the cheese with variety's and errors. They either are or aren't. Your quarter has too much damage in the area. By the way, Condition is always the key when an error is involved. Strike thru or loss of lamination is common enough on Nickels that they don't tend to get a premium. Because they can be found in pocket change.
@Salvatore Cucchiara you would be better off using a smart phone to take your photos, so you can show the entire coin. If you don't have a smart phone, borrow one.
You were given excellent advice on your other posts. TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN THE MINTING AND DIE MAKING PROCESSES. You're just wasting time if you dont. Do you know the difference between the single squeeze class IX doubling and other classes of hub doubling? Go back and look at at the links you were given and study.
Unfortunately, with your lack of knowledge and not being inclined to learn, you will be wasting a lot of "under 10 bucks" with that attitude.
you think I should still show my other coins, that arent on vista, maybe i can get lucky, whataya say
You don't have to be an expert, just willing to learn. A lot of us that answer questions have been wrong many a time. Then another member will chime in and correct the attribution. It helps us all learn. No one likes to lose. Man
