1917 Type 1 Standing Liberty - Grade?

    Thanks, everyone. This has been very informative.

    The surface of this coin seems unusual to me as I can't quite tell if the numerous lttle spots are etched into the surface or are deposited on top of it. Taking extreme closeups of the reverse helped me see more of it better.

    I enjoy the detail and its hint of steely blue coloring, so I am pleased to be able to have this coin.

    Thanks for showing it to us. Do not dip it as all the "spots" streaks, and color will disappear.

    Not to worry. I wouldn't even send it to NCS for fear it would end up clean, but pitted, and without the wonderful color. Not worth taking a chance.

    Now that I had a closer look at the 2nd photo, I agree that it has slight wear on it, and also looks touched up.
