My youngest son and me started with a Whitman album and G-VG focus on raw coins. That was a few years back, now he's getting toward the end of his undergrad degree. Our best find was a 1916 in a lot of 80 plus quarters from a consignment shop for $4.70 each, and our most expensive purchase was our 1923-S, Corroded & Cleaned for almost $500 after some negotiation. I decided to move the set to slabs because we bought some, but we still have albums going too, and now a higher grade set of slabs and maybe a lower. Lots of lower end dupes. My current favorite is the 1929 MS63 Full Head I got for $125 raw at a local online auction. The ones in ICG slabs are mostly ones I purchased raw (but not the 1923S). Do not have the 1918S/17 overstrike. Here's the current complete slabbed set.
