Hey, a guy wants me to buy this for $130: http://puu.sh/hqsDg/7566e72a79.jpg Do you think that's a good price vor should I ask him to go down? Mathis
Tell him you'd like to see a decent picture of it. Out of the plastic sleeve and evenly lit, back and front.
Is the bottom of the note cut off or is that just the frame cutting it off? The heavy crease down the center will hurt the value, 130 might be a little high.
He has it in a frame where you can also see the back of the note, so you can't take it out. The bottom is just covered by the frame.
Have you seen it or just this terrible picture. That is a bid $50 and take a gamble picture. If he wants a decent price he will not get it without decent presentation.
I have seen it, it has various folds. But it is a 1917 $2 bill so theoretically the price can only go up as time goes by, right?
Not a lot of consolation if it takes 20 years to reach the price you paid (or about 3 times that allowing for inflation over the period. No collectable item has a guaranteed upside. Fashions change, this year's hot item can be cold as ice when you want to sell it. Only the really topmost quality stuff does seem reasonably bullet proof. Anything a bit iffy can fall out of favour.
