1916D mercury dime

    Can someone help me out? I'm needing a opinion if this is a fake. Something looks a little off with the "d". image.jpg

    I'd Google "1916D dime diagnostics". The entirety of the piece screams, "uh oh".

    Yes. It is a cast fake. The entire coin is wrong. Not even close.

    Aren't all real 1916D reverses kind of concave? This one looks flat.

    Confirmed. Jeremy's photo shows the D in the wrong place and with an impossible tilt. His, if anything, is tilted high right, and the real ones are high left.

    Wasn't had. Someone I knew had it and asked me if I was interested. Always check on stuff out of my realm of expertise before I buy.
