Hello again all you helpful peeps! Can someone tell me what's going on with this penny. There is some sort of die break going thru Lincolns head, but also the weird type color/ texture type thing going on....is this caused by the minting process? The odd color/texture thing is on the reverse as well...
That isn't a die crack, looks like a lamination to me. as for the color of the coin, I'm not sure what is going on there.
Thanks guys! I wasn't sure if it was a die crack....I'm very new to coin collecting in general and seem to be drawn to the error coinage. You guys have been a great resource for me in getting more educated.
