Yeah, just a bad example but cheap enough to fill the album space - AG for sure, at least you can make out the date. I think I bought my "space filler" G-4 right around 60$ off of FLEABAY!"
I've found that early semi-key slicks don't do terribly well. Bet it would be $30 or $35 on the 'bay.
You're on the happy side of things then. I can see enough tops of enough letters to be OK with AG3 for it.
You might be able to find a coin of that quality in the junk silver box at your local coin store. I would not pay over $20.
If YOU like the coin, that is all that matters...if you bought it hoping to make a few bucks, good luck. Most (not all) Walker collectors have no interest in a coin with badly worn rims...#3 on the mintage list however.
No, it is not a "cull" coin. Cull usually means it is bent, holed, surface issues, etc not wear. I have personally bought walkers in junk bins, they are usually later date in VF or below, not key date or semi-keys unless the dealer knows no better. Of course you can list anything as cull you want, which will just scare of bidders except those looking to pick you. I agree though Walker better dates don't seem to fair well right now in lower grades along with other coins of this age like buffalo nickels. I have an easier time selling coins of different eras than this. Like three cent silvers, there is a large interest, in any condition. Maybe I sold mine too cheap?
