Wondering what you would value this coin at. The G04 guide price is $85 to $100. 1916sWalker.JPG 1916sWalkerR.JPG

It doesn't quite reach G-4 for me. I see it more as a AG-3 and would value it at about $45-50.

Yeah, just a bad example but cheap enough to fill the album space - AG for sure, at least you can make out the date. I think I bought my "space filler" G-4 right around 60$ off of FLEABAY!"

Check out the grades - might even be a touch worse than AG-03

I've found that early semi-key slicks don't do terribly well. Bet it would be $30 or $35 on the 'bay.

Well that is good, I paid $19. If and when I sell it maybe I make a profit.

That's a coin that could tell a lot of stories.

You're on the happy side of things then. I can see enough tops of enough letters to be OK with AG3 for it.

You might be able to find a coin of that quality in the junk silver box at your local coin store. I would not pay over $20.

For comparison, here is a 16-s I own graded G-4.

If YOU like the coin, that is all that matters...if you bought it hoping to make a few bucks, good luck. Most (not all) Walker collectors have no interest in a coin with badly worn rims...#3 on the mintage list however.

I'd list it as a cull.

No, it is not a "cull" coin. Cull usually means it is bent, holed, surface issues, etc not wear. I have personally bought walkers in junk bins, they are usually later date in VF or below, not key date or semi-keys unless the dealer knows no better. Of course you can list anything as cull you want, which will just scare of bidders except those looking to pick you.

I agree though Walker better dates don't seem to fair well right now in lower grades along with other coins of this age like buffalo nickels. I have an easier time selling coins of different eras than this. Like three cent silvers, there is a large interest, in any condition. Maybe I sold mine too cheap?
