Bought this raw the other day and was wondering what grade to catalog it at. There's a scratch at about 7:00 on the obverse that probably knocks it down 2 steps, but I was wondering if those are common for the year & design even in mint state.

Are there any other marks that I missed on my initial assessment that stand out to you?

Digital photos tend to create noise that can be mistaken for polishing. But, the obverse certainly seems to have something going on. I'm leaning towards cabinet wear on a weak strike rather than deliberate cleaning, as the reverse shows none of the issues that you'd expect to be on both fields.

Details slab, coin has been polished. Could be only the obverse is polished, idk. Better pics needed on the reverse to give a numbered grade.

I'll see what I can do when I retrieve it from my safety deposit box.

Not trying to be thick here, but you are aware that the forum downsized pictures can be expanded, right? I seem to constantly get "need better pics" comments on some pretty dang good pictures.

Your 2nd set of pics confirm what the 1st set of pics say, that the coin has been severely polished.

I'd have to agree with a cleaning, at least on the obv which seems to show a lot of grouped hairlines in the obv field.
