1916 obverse D half dollar

    I'm not sure of the grade on this. Is VF20 an over estimation or too conservative? And is the Redbook value for these anywhere close to accurate? Sheesh - I didn't realize that they were this scarce. 20200329_171556.jpg 20200329_171601.jpg

    Looks to me more like a F-15.

    That dark field behind the mint mark is suspect. Wait for other members

    That dark field around the mint mark is probably because this is in a area that would be protected by the D mint mark. The raised areas on coins helps to keep fingers and other things away from the close up areas next to them.If this area was bright and shiny on my circulated coins then I would start to worry

    After reviewing a few of these in slabs, it still looks like it could grade between f15 & vf30 depending on the expert's mood.

    What price do these actually sell for in that range?
