dct is right about one thing if nothing else - you can't compare world coins to US coins when it comes to price. It just can't be done. There is no similarity whatsoever. More often than not the world coin will have a greater rarity, both mintage and condition. And yet it will sell for a fraction of the price of any comparable US coin. That IS the market, there's no getting around it. As for condition rarity alone, look at the submission numbers between that coin and a US coin. The US coin will outnumber it a hundred, a thousand, maybe even ten thousand to one. In some cases a US coin will outnumber a world coin a hundred thousand to one. So you can't compare condition rarity between the two with such a disparity. As for many of them of equal quality sitting out there raw, that's the same argument made with US coins. Is it possible there are some other 68's out there ? Sure, you bet it's possible. Is it probable ? Yeah, it's even probable. But how many ? That is the question. And it's a question, and an argument that can never be won or lost, or answered. Because it is pure supposition and speculation. I'll tell you this. I do not believe for one minute that there are thousands, or even hundreds, or even tens for that matter, of US coins or world coins sitting out there raw in grades like MS68 or MS69. Especially not with older coins. People have made that claim about US coins for as long as coin grading has been with us. But in all those years, very, very few have ever showed up. That speaks volumes to me. It tells me that the reason they have never showed up is because they don't exist. Just my opinion.
